WE ARE DOING WHAT WE CAN

Are you? Giving to charity is pretty easy way to get involved.  You are very welcome to join.

Nordic Growth Companion is a charity founded by the private foundation "Familjen Olofssons Stiftelse". Since 2014 this foundation has supported projects within education and healthcare in developing countries with an annual fund of circa 500 000 SEK. So far we have concetrated our grants to certain projects in wich we have a great and far reaching engagement. But we want to do more than that!

With our new platform Nordic Growth Companion, we want to find more projects to get involved in, and get more people and companies to provide financial support so that we togeter can help even more people in need.

BE A PART OF THE CHANGE YOU TOO!

Do you have a project that needs support to get started? Get in touch and maybe we can help!

OUR PURPOSE

HELP THE VULNERABLE

The purpose of everything we do is to help vulnerable people. We have chosen to focus on the great needs that exist in healthcare and education in developing countries. But our foundation does not have unlimited resources. Therefore, we are looking for others who want to join us. Together we can make a difference.

GET THE FUNDS

Without money - no completed projects.
We know that there are many of you out there who want to help others who are less fortunate. Some of you want to work hands on and run projects, and others want to get involved by donating money. Through the Nordic Growth Companion, we hope to bring you together.

INSPIRE OTHERS

Doing good is great. And great things inspire!  That's why we will gladly show off our ongoing projects and all contributors working with us.  We hope to inspire other companies to spends its resources on giving back to society and making the world a better place. One little donation at a time.

THIS IS HOW WE OPERATE

We target smaller projects. Often run by a small association in the local area, or an enthusiastic individual in Sweden (or any other country for that matter). For these kind of projects it is almost impossible to get financing from the bigger aid organizations, as it often requires a lot of paperwork and that you already have secured a large part of the financing. So if you don't have that money, how are you going to get further? This is where we can help. Partly through our experience, knowledge and connections, and partly through financial means.

We always cooperate with local partners. They know better how the project and operations must be run and developed on site. With local people we also ensure that knowledge and personnel remain on site.

Regarding the payment of financial support, it is done through the foundation Familjen Olofsson Stiftelse. Around 99% of the sum goes directly to the actual project (purchases and salaries) and NOT to project fees or administration costs or such, neither in Sweden nor the country where the project takes place. About 1% goes to costs for international bank transfers and operation of this website.

We are currently funding four projects, two of which we have planned for financial support for several years to come. That is the midwifery training in Mali and the boarding school in Nepal This is to ensure that the operations can continue to be carried out while they search for a solution to their own funding. The other two projects, the hospital in Mali and the water and sanitation project in Ghana, have received one-time donations to complete a specific build.
Unfortunately, the funds in the foundation are not infinite. And this is why we need more people who contribute and enable new projects to come to life.

ANDERS OLOFSSON

Founder and chairman of the board

"If you find yourself having enough money to get by, and maybe more than that, I see no reason not to donate your abundance to those who are completely without. So I went from thought to action and started this foundation through which I can donate money to community building projects in developing countries. It is the only right thing to do"

Anders Olofsson founded the Familjen Olofsson Stiftelse in 2014 and is its main financier. From Holmsund in the north of Sweden he works voluntarily with the foundation alongside his regular job. He has worked most of his life in the school system, started of as a teather, and now with the development of computer systems for schools.

As often as Anders gets the opportunity, he travels and visits the projects that the foundation supports. Otherwise, the Alps and skiing also attract.
